Mexican Folk Tales
In the frantic daily reality we live submerged in images, sounds, news, and information of every kind and size — television, newspapers, the internet — yet, amid this great cloud of dust, there still remain, lost in the air, some special stories.
They are the tales passed down through centuries and millennia by the voice of humankind, carrying the importance of spoken word and the wisdom of oral storytelling that, from generation to generation, the storyteller has transmitted to us.
As if by magic, at the sound of a voice, a little theater of fable miraculously fills with the characters of these Mexican Folk Tales, originally titled Stories of the Color of the Earth. These are stories born from the earth itself — the same earth that carries the color of the skin of Indigenous Mexican peoples, guardians of countless small, powerful, and magical tales.
Created in Italian in 2000, later performed in Spanish, and now arriving in Spanglish, this show invites you to step into a world where imagination breathes, tradition speaks, and ancient voices come alive right before your eyes.
Come be part of the story. Let the earth’s colors, sounds, and legends welcome you into a theater where every tale still beats with life.
